We are holding space for the voices that carry our history. Elders in the Chat is an intergenerational circle designed to put our community Elders on a pedestal, offering a sacred time for younger generations to listen and engage in dialogue with those who have walked the path before us.
This first 3-part series is hosted by Iya Het-Heru, sharing her sewing craft through quilting. While we work with our hands, the quilting is secondary—a steady rhythm that allows for grounded, natural conversation and the passing down of community wisdom. No previous skill is necessary; come for the connection, stay for the stories.
